Surface Collection

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Haworth Surface Collection is designed to be:
- Sophisticated in its use of textures, designs, and colors,
- Sustainable in the materials it offers and
- Simple to use.

Sophisticated: The combination of smooth and textured finishes, neutrals and colors, simple and complex weaves, and translucent and opaque materials, gives the Surface Collection a wide appeal and visual interest. Our finishes can help you design interiors that are classic, transitional, or trendy.

Sustainable: At Haworth we continually review and improve all of our materials and processes in order to minimize the impact we make on the overall environment.
We offer the highest number of 100% recycled polyester proprietary systems fabrics in the industry. Haworth is implementing water-based stains and finishes on all our wood products.

Simple: We believe that good design shouldn’t be hard to specify. The Haworth Surface Collection is designed on the concept that our finishes are offered broadly across our various product lines, allowing designers to blend products simply and easily.
This means that with few exceptions, systems fabrics are offered on all systems lines and seating fabrics are offered on all our seating. You can mix various product lines within the Haworth product familys.
Simple also means easier to do business with, especially as it relates to COM finishes. The approval process for COM fabrics has been streamlined through a new preapproval program which allows fabric companies to have their fabrics pre-tested and approved on our products before a request is made. This greatly reduces the approval time on most fabrics. Several hundred laminates from four large suppliers have also been pre-approved and are available on our worksurfaces.

These are materials that are designed and developed specifically for Haworth products including systems, seating, freestanding, and architectural walls.

HAWORTH+

These are materials from companies with which we have developed alliances. Starting with fabrics, selected patterns from Carnegie, Luna Textiles, and Maharam, will be graded-in and easily specifiable on Haworth products.
The Haworth+ program is designed to grow and encompass other surface materials.

CUSTOMERS OWN MATERIAL (C.O.M.)

The Customer’s Own Material programs consists of two parts:
Pre-approved COM’s: This program is the first of its kind in our industry. These are finishes that have been pre-tested and approved for use on various products. Currently, this includes fabrics from a variety of fabric companies, along with laminates. Order Entry codes are available through the Customs Group to ease the ordering process.

COM’s: These are finishes in a variety of categories that can be processed through our Customs Group to provide designers with a unique finish on the products. Custom finishes can include systems and seating fabrics, laminates, wood, paint, glass, translucent, and wallcoverings. Processes and forms are found under the Resources section of this website.
